Pinwheels at CoG

HELPING CHILDREN AND TEENS WHO HAVE SUFFERED ABUSE

As most of you know, Ralston House is a child advocacy center that helps children and teens who are suspected of being sexually or physically abused. Pinwheels will be planted all over Jefferson and Adams Counties in April. Blue pinwheels are a symbol of child abuse prevention awareness across the nation and April is Child Abuse Prevention month.

The Mission Committee will be soliciting funds to sponsor pinwheels after church on April 6 and 13 for $5 each. Checks should be made out to Ralston House. Our garden should be up and spinning after church on the 13th (anyone wishing to join in the “planting” of the pinwheels is welcome to meet at the sign on Wadsworth. Bring a screwdriver and something to kneel on). The goal is to raise $500 (sponsoring 100 pinwheels, but over the past several years, our generous congregation has far exceeded this goal!) Each garden says to child/teen victims. “The abuse is not your fault. We are on your side; we believe you and want to help you heal.” Let’s Plant some Hope – Together!
