FIRST & THIRD TUESDAYS, MAR 5-MAY 7 AT 7PM VIA ZOOM
Several members of the Safe Parking team are going to be reading and discussing a book on homelessness and we are inviting you to join us. The book is Grace Can Lead Us Home: A Christian Call to End Homelessness by Kevin Nye. The author is a pastor who felt God’s call to this population and has a message to us that is hopeful, encouraging, realistic, and practical. He tells wonderful stories of the homeless people he has gotten to know and how God is at work through the relationships we build with them. We will meet via Zoom, 7pm for an hour, on the first and third Tuesdays, March 5 to May 7. For more information or to sign up, contact Tom Olschner, 720-394-0907.

COLLECTING PINWHEEL DONATIONS SUN APR 7 & 14 / $5 PER PINWHEEL
Ralston House is a child advocacy center that helps children and teens who are suspected of being sexually or physically abused. Pinwheels will be planted all over Jefferson and Adams Counties in April. Blue pinwheels are a symbol of child abuse prevention awareness across the nation and April is Child Abuse Prevention month. The Mission Committee will be soliciting funds to sponsor pinwheels after church on April 7 and 14 for $5 each. Checks should be made out to Community of Grace. Our pinwheel garden should be up and spinning after church on April 14 (anyone wishing to join in the “planting” of the pinwheels is welcome to meet at the sign on Wadsworth. Bring a screwdriver and something to kneel on if you can). The goal is to raise $500 (sponsoring 100 pinwheels, but over the past several years, our generous congregation has far exceeded this goal!)

SUN FEB 11 FOLLOWING WORSHIP
Inspired by the age-old tradition of eating pancakes before the beginning of Lent in order to use up butter, eggs, and fat in preparation for the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, our “Shrove Tuesday” will be a Shrove Sunday. Your Fellowship Committee needs your help to pull this off! First, we need lots of hungry church folks to come down to Fellowship Hall after church. Next, would you be willing to help with set-up, serving, or clean-up and perhaps contribute a bowl of fruit to share? There are sign-up sheets in the Lobby on the Fellowship table. There may even be a couple of pancake races!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF ALICE ORGAN
Help “decorate” this special tree in the church Lobby with warm clothing items for kids. All donations are due in the Lobby before Wednesday, December 20, and then will be taken to the Jeffco Action Center.
Who was Alice Organ? She was a former member who had a heart for ministry and started the Mitten and Sock Giving Tree to donate mittens and socks for children to the Jeffco Action Center. After she passed, her family and friends asked if she could be remembered each year as members donate. This tradition has continued long after her passing; we’ve grown to love the tree and the warmth that’s shared.
AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY
Our Advent series is titled, How Does a Weary World Rejoice? Don’t forget to pick up an Advent Devotional Booklet in the Lobby!

We’ll return to the church around 4pm, and anyone else who wants to come —will be heartily welcomed with cookies and cocoa. If you’d like to bring cookies, you may—but there will also be cookies available if you don’t have time to bake or shop! We will begin singing carols at church at 4:45pm with all the joy we can muster. Stop by the Fellowship Station in the Lobby on Sunday, December 17, to sign up to go with the carolers, as well as stating your availability to help with carpooling.
